  • For the treatment of intestinsal Amebiasis the dosage of FLAGYL is 750 mg three times in a day     for 5 to 10 days.
  • For Anaerobic Bacterial Infections the dosage of FLAGYL is 500 mg for every 6 hours in a day.
  • The dosage of FLAGYL is decided on the basis of general health status of the individual, severity of the bacterial infection, other medicines you are taking, and side effects after the initial dosage.
  • If you want to increase the dosage of FLAGYL, please take the doctor’s advice.
  • Consume each dose of FLAGYL with a full glass of water.

  • When taking FLAGYL avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. FLAGYL may cause dizziness or drowsiness.

  • Avoid the intake of alcohol while taking FLAGYL because it can increase the side effects like drowsiness and dizziness.

Precautions while taking FLAGYL?
Note: Breast-feeding women should avoid FLAGYL, because FLAGYL passes through breast milk from mother to child and affects a nursing infant.   • lithium (Lithobid, Eskalith, others); or
  • a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin);
  • disulfiram (Antabuse);
  • cimetidine (Tagamet)
  • Please avoid the intake of any other antibiotics like erythromycin or penicillin in combination with FLAGYL because it may lead to severe side effects.
  • Please mention to the doctor about any of the over-the-counter or prescription medicines before taking FLAGYL. Avoid starting any new medicines while you are on the scheduled dosage of FLAGYL.
