Precautions While Taking CLOMID?

• Do not take Clomid if you are allergic to Clomiphene or any other medications.
• Before starting the course of Clomid tell your doctor what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking.
• Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had problem of liver disease, ovarian cysts (except those from polycystic ovary syndrome), uterine fibroids, abnormal vaginal bleeding, a pituitary tumor, or thyroid or adrenal disease.
• Though Clomid stimulates fertility but still consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding before taking Clomid. If you become pregnant while taking Clomiphene, call your doctor immediately.
• Avoid driving if you are taking Clomiphene as it might cause blurred vision.
• Chances of multiple pregnancy (twins or more) are many with Clomid. Talk to your doctor about the risks of multiple pregnancy.

How CLOMID is supplied?

• NDC 0068-0226-30: 50 mg tablets in cartons of 30
• Tablets are round, white, scored, and debossed Clomid 50.

Storage of CLOMID

• Clomid should be stored at a room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C)
• Store away from heat, moisture, and light
• Do not store in the bathroom
• Keep Clomid out of the reach of children

Warnings

• Be sure you don’t have liver problem or have normal estrogen level before starting the treatment with Clomid. Prior to treatment with Clomid analyze you for pregnancy ovarian enlargement, or cyst formation. Also do complete course of pelvic before each course of Clomid.
• There is a possibility of multiple births if taking a treatment of Clomiphene. Although no direct effects of the drug on the unborn child have been established. Clomid causes the problem of blurred vision so avoid driving car or operating dangerous machinery, especially under conditions of variable lighting. Symptoms of blurred vision include blurring, spots or flashes, double vision, intolerance to light, decreased visual sharpness, loss of peripheral vision, and distortion of space. Consult your doctor immediately if such symptoms occur.
• Another serious problem associated with the taking of Clomid is of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (or OHSS, enlargement of the ovary). OHSS may progress rapidly and become serious. Its symptoms are severe pelvic pain, nausea, vomiting, and weight gain, abdominal pain, abdominal enlargement, diarrhea, weight gain, difficult or labored breathing, and less urine production. If you experience any of these warning signs or symptoms, notify your doctor immediately.
• To lessen the risks associated with abnormal ovarian enlargement during treatment with Clomiphene, the lowest effective dose should be prescribed. Women with the hormonal disorder, polycystic ovarian syndrome, may be unusually sensitive to certain hormones and may respond abnormally to usual doses of Clomid. If you experience pelvic pain, notify your doctor. He may discontinue your use of clomiphene until the ovaries return to pretreatment size.
• Long-term treatment with Clomid is safe or not is not yet established. Doctors also do not prescribe more than six courses of therapy. Prolonged use may increase the risk of a tumor in the ovaries.
