What is ACIPHEX?

  • Aciphex is a medicine used for the treatment of ‘Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease’ (GERD), which is caused due to heartburn. Rabeprazole is an antiulcer drug and was first developed by Eisai Co and sold under the brand names Aciphex and Pariet.
  • Aciphex is also used for the medication of erosive esophagiis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, duodenal ulcers, and some other conditions. Headache, diarrhea, and nausea are some of the symptoms of Aciphex (or GRED). Heartburn is caused due to the formation of acid in our body. Aciphex works by blocking the acid production, thus reducing the amount of acid in body. Do not take this disease lightly, as it can create much problem later if not resolved on time.

How ACIPHEX is beneficial?
Aciphex gives a temporary relief from gradual breakdown or sore (ulceration) in the esophagus that might be caused due to the backward flow of gastric acid from the stomach into the esophagus (that is gastro esophageal reflux disease) GERD. Short-term relief i.e. up to four weeks from an ulcer in the duodenum can also be achieved from Aciphex. It also helps in recovering from Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, the condition in which stomach secrets too much of acid.

What is the Dosage of ACIPHEX?
Aciphex is prescribed for the short-term period of four to eight weeks. If disease does not get cured in eight weeks time, doctor may prescribe an additional course of eight weeks again.

If I Overdose ACIPHEX?

Precautions While Taking ACIPHEX?
